2020 Rosenbacchanal

This invitation suite, designed for The Rosenbach’s annual fundraiser—The Rosenbacchanal 2020: Young Voices of The Rosenbach, celebrates nearly three centuries of contributions from young writers, poets.

In the final design concept, the drawing unifies writers Phillis Wheatley, Alice Dunbar-Nelson, and Nakahama “John” Manjiro, whose lives and work span across the three centuries, with that of a single thread. In continuing with that theme and surrounding each figure are illustrations connecting them to an animal, plant, or writing tool referencing their experiences. Each design piece contains a variation of the drawings.
