Design concepts for The Muse Collaborative circle around the four key stylistic elements of hip hop: MCing, Djing/scratching, break dancing, and graffiti writing. The design of the website highlights these elements through imagery, graphics, typography, and photography. Many of the background and banner photographs feature graffiti specific to local buildings and aerial shots of Camden, NJ.
The Garden is a free, weekly hip-hop party hosted by local MCs and DJs in a local garden in Camden, NJ providing them an opportunity to showcase their talent and give back to the community.
The Garden poster series consists of two separate designs. The first design highlights the artist and includes a different color series distinguishing a new feature artist week to week. The graphics remain minimal, so they would not detract from the artist. They also allude to a cityscape, which is a backdrop for the Philadelphia/Camden area. The second poster for The Garden contrasts the featured artist poster and is to be utilized by The Muse Collaborative to promote the event as a whole.
